about VIDIMUS

Honor's graduate collection, VIDIMUS looks at distorting and disrupting Gothic windows through reflection, repetition, and iteration.

TRACERY brooches and earrings began with paper cutting a window and shining a strong light through the negative, exploring how the shadow warped and stretched, much like a window on a sunny day. The inclusion of reclaimed stained glass mirrors how the light scatters bold gems of colour across a stone floor

GRISAILLE and EMBRASURE looked at reflection as a means of distortion. GRISAILLE focussed on the distortion of successive reflections with a flexible mirror, exploring how building the shapes could create a series of gradually more warped pieces. EMBRASURE followed a similar ethos but stacked each subsequent reflection to create bold and enigmatic rings that cast dynamic shadows
